Live Hearing

A live hearing will follow a similar format (unless the parties agree otherwise) as a court or arbitration hearing. The judge (see note below) will be one of the legal experts and may be a trained judge or arbitrator.

Providing witness statements have been provided, the parties may give oral evidence at a live hearing and each witness may be questioned by the other party or his or her representative or the judge, Judgment on the issues in dispute and costs may either be given at the end of the hearing or sent to the parties in writing within 28 days.

Note: Our panel of legal experts are all specialist solicitors or barristers who have been qualified for at least 10 years. The word “judge” is used to describe the lawyer deciding the case. Although a number of our legal experts are also appointed to sit as a judge by the Courts, he or she will be acting independently from this role.
